Since launch, Night in the Woods has been released on mobile phones, PC, Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, so fans of narrative adventure games can check it out no matter what platform they prefer. Night in the Woods was also supported by the release of two small companion games titled Longest Night and Lost Constellation, which helped establish the game's characters, setting, and story themes before its eventual release on February 21, 2017. The Kickstarter ended up raising more than 400% of that, allowing the team at Infinite Fall to hire additional team members to contribute during development. Night in the Woods first began as a Kickstarter project in 2013 that was aiming to raise $50,000.
